SPREAD THE WORD!
Use the following documents to help spread the word to your network and community about the upcoming MG Walk!
In September of 2013 I started having double vision. I immediately called my family doctor who
recognized right away what was happening. After a quick visit to a neuro-ophthalmologist, I was
diagnosed with MG.
I started seeing Dr. Li in December of 2013 and had a crisis January 19, 2014. I spent 9 days in the
Cleveland Clinic. While at the Clinic, I was diagnosed with the MuSK strain of MG Oh joy!!! After
receiving 5 plasmapheresis (PLEX) treatments, I got to go home.
I went back to work in March and slowly started to build up my strength. I worked full time until the end
of June 2017 when I retired after 30 years with the North Olmsted Police Department.
I am doing great! Feel awesome and have been traveling a lot. I’m currently planning a trip to Ireland
and Scotland in 2021.
My husband, John, has been by my side and my biggest supporter through each and every step of this
A world without MG would be so wonderful. With all the research being done – It could be a great
possibility in the near future.
Tom has been married 50+ years to Cheryl, and worked in several fields over this time, mainly in direct
contact with people and in commercial sales. For a decade plus, Tom was involved in Broadcast
Advertising Sales and Broadcast sales management. Since 1984 Tom has worked in IT, starting with
mainly Business Telephone Systems & Cellular, than gradually – over the years, -- adding other IT areas
of competence to his “can do” checklist. Since 2002, having broken off from an Ameritech distributor,
Tom has operated his own IT company: Citadel Communications & Data. Tom got MG in 2009 (ocular)
and experienced crisis in 2010, and has been largely in medically maintained remission since shortly
after that time.
